Bladder infections, also called urinary tract infections (UTIs), occur when bacteria build up in the urinary tract. A UTI can be found in children from infancy through the teen years and into adulthood.

If your child complains of pain or burning during urination, they tend to urinate frequently or urgently, or they suddenly start bedwetting or accidently urinate after learning how to use the toilet, he may be experiencing bladder infections or urinary tract infections. A UTI may also cause abdominal pain, or side or back pain.

To know for sure that your child has a UTI, a urine test must be carried out and this will determine the type of treatment to administer to the child.
